In Shona, ‘Shasha' means ‘champion' and Shasha Network is on a mission to equip 50 million young Africans with the skills and tools to achieve their fullest potential and uplift their communities. When the organisation's CEO, Farai Munjoma reached out about a rebrand, I seized the opportunity to inject deeper meaning into the brand. The centrepiece of this work became the redefined symbol of a hand seizing a lightning bolt. The idea behind it is simple and is meant to inspire: when lightning strikes, we can never predict how far the electric field will travel. Similarly, when a young African seizes their true potential, their journey becomes boundless. This narrative became the foundation for every element of the brand, from messaging guidelines and photography principles for cohesive visual direction. Taglines like “we wear our potential on our faces," “your future can't wait" and “supercharge your future" were developed to echo this spirit. The outcome was compiled into a structured brand presentation, reflecting a bold new chapter for Shasha Network: one that captures the organisation's fresh ambitions and the limitless futures it exists to ignite.
